Red Mountain Turquoise
The Red Mountain Turquoise Mine produced very fine Turquoise in the 1960's through the 1970's. Many have been searching for the main deep blue vein since. Red Mountain is known for high quantity high-grade nuggets that are no larger than a dime and the beautiful dark blue spider web Turquoise vein material that is in thin seams. . Red Mountains top grade material is a hard with tight and fine spider web. Red Mountain also produces colors in the blue green range with a stunning gold or rust-colored spider web matrix. The Red Mountain Turquoise Mine is located in Northern Nevada and the heaviest production was between 1982 -1985, however, little of the deep blue spiderweb Turquoise was found during this period. Since 1985, most of the mining at Red Mountain has been in the tailings and little is being found.
